ABOUT US

Chandra and Debbie have been guiding and coordinating trips in the Himalayas and internationally for over 10 years. The trips began as physical challenges and cultural explorations through the gorgeous terrain of their beloved home and along the way, these treks naturally evolved to become spiritual journeys with incredible inner transformation. We are so excited to bring together all of our favorite things- the awe-inspiring Himalayas, delicious Nepali food, vibrant and diverse culture, a mix of walking and relaxing, village and city, and the powerful simplicity of Reconnective Healing- with our favorite people - international travelers and local guides including Kaji Sherpa- guide, chef, and friend, and other beautiful teachers, guides, and porters. We are so happy to bring you this HiMaLuna Adventure- an inner expedition to you!

Deborah Bock

From the chaotic streets of D.C. or Kathmandu, to the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains and Himalayas, Debbie is at ease wherever she finds herself- and she is always finding herself. Her experience includes raft guiding, training as a Reconnective Healing Foundational Practitioner, Wilderness First Responder and birth doula, backpacking the Colorado Trail, teaching creative writing in the Himalayas, and popping out a few pretty cute babies. She is especially happy to discuss and learn about women traveling, families trekking, birth and babies, healthy, organic foods and agriculture, and alternative health and healing.

Chandra Pun

Born at home in a small village, overlooking Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, Chandra grew up wandering the terraced fields, deep jungles, and mountain paths of the Himalayas. From teaching in the local elementary school, choreographing traditional dance, and guiding many years- his heart and soul are in the vibrant mountains. He loves sharing his home and culture with people from all over and learning as much as possible from everyone he meets. Chandra co-started HiMaLuna Adventures to maintain the integrity and high standards he has for traveling and living and to provide people with an incredible experience. Chandra is especially happy to talk about traditional culture and customs, tell stories passed down from his grandparents, play the flute and guitar, and learn as much as possible about whatever is on his mind at the time until his curiosity is quenched.

Kaji Sherpa

Kaji is a guide and chef from a traditional Sherpa farming family in the Solu-Khumbu (Everest) region of Nepal. He knows in-depth the trails, plants, animals, and people all across the Himalayas after many years as a chef and guide for treks and expeditions. For over five years, he has run a popular restaurant in Kathmandu, creating and serving great local food. On the treks, we are very fortunate to enjoy his great company and delicious local and international culinary masterpieces.
